BONNERS FERRY — Shelman Realty is having a 10-foot log carved in front of their building by Hans Flynn during the Kootenai River Days events. The carving will be open to public viewing on July 20 and 21, and free huckleberry and moose tracks ice cream will be served to those who attend.

The outcome of the carving is a mystery until the final product is displayed. The 10-foot cedar log was produced locally and Mike Kelly assisted with positioning the log in front of the building.

“We thought it would be a fun activity for the community to guess what it is going to become,” said Mark Carey.

With a plethora of events over the coming week and the summer weather, community members can enjoy a cool treat and artistic entertainment.
