Northern Lakes falls in title game,

still on to state

SPOKANE VALLEY — Cam Harris went 2 for 3 for the Mountaineers in a loss to Sandpoint in the Washington class A tournament at University High.

Northern Lakes (20-16) advances to the Washington state tournament — the program’s first appearance — as the district’s second seed, opening the 16-team tournament next Saturday in Seattle. The tournament will be played at Rainier Beach High and Southwest Athletic Complex in Seattle.

“It was our fourth game in five days, and I think we were getting a little worn down,” Northern Lakes coach Cameron Knigge said. “Hats off to Sandpoint for winning the district title. We’ll regroup and get ready for state next week.”
