A Coeur d’Alene woman wanted for grand theft and who is under investigation for the murder of her husband turned herself in to authorities Wednesday.

After being on the lam for several months, Laurcene “Lori” Isenberg, 64, met her attorney Wednesday and the couple drove to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office where she turned herself in, bail bondsmen Chris Skinner said.

Skinner said he returned from California where he thought Isenberg was in hiding, and shortly after his return, he received a call from Isenberg and her attorney, Erik Smith, asking to meet at the jail.

Isenberg, who is accused of embezzling more than a half million dollars from a local housing nonprofit was wanted on a $500,000 warrant.

She is also under investigation for her possible role in the death of her husband, 68-year-old Larry Isenberg, who was found floating in Lake Coeur d’Alene after an outing on the lake with his wife.

Isenberg said her husband died after falling into the water while trying to fix a boat motor, but an autopsy showed he died from an overdose of Benadryl.

A warrant filed earlier this month in Superior Court in Spokane, where Lori Isenberg’s daughters live, reiterates the Idaho coroner’s report.

The warrant indicates Isenberg’s daughters, Jessica Barnes and Amber Hosking, are under investigation for conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and first-degree theft.

Isenberg’s first appearance on any new charges will be today in First District Court.
