OTHELLO — Longtime area artist, Michael J. Lewis, will be showcasing his artwork at the Clymer Museum and Gallery and the Jundt Art Museum.

His show is entitled “Echos of Hanford Reach,” and features pieces inspired by the pretty landscape, diverse wildlife, and peoples Lewis explained.

“It fascinates me very much,” said Lewis. “There’s a history, stories there.”

Though his show originally opened in May, it will continue until the end of June.

Lewis also explained that the Clymer Museum and Gallery recently announced that they are becoming a western heritage center in association with the Ellensburg Rodeo Association and the Western Art Association.

In addition to his show at the Clymer, Lewis will also be kicking off his show at the Jundt Art Museum in their first landscape exhibition showcasing artwork inspired by and celebrating the landscaping of the Inland Northwest.

To feature art in the exhibition is “open to artists in the Inland Northwest area,” said Lewis.

A reception to kick off the exhibit is set for June 1, and will run until August.

Lewis is an oil painter who works primarily on Belgian Linen he explained. For questions or to view pieces of his work, visit website at michaeljlewisart.com or check out his Facebook page.
