KITTITAS — A Othello man reportedly crashed into a Washington Department of Transportation truck on Interstate 90 near Kittitas Monday morning.

About 11:25 a.m. Steven Struthers, 66, of Othello, was driving a 2018 Volvo semi-truck hauling an empty utility trailer east on I-90, 11 miles east of Kittitas, when he reportedly went around a corner and struck the rear of a 2012 International 700 Department of Transportation truck. The DOT truck, driven by Daniel Orcutt, 60, of Ellensburg, had the right eastbound lane of I-90 closed at the spot of the collision and reportedly had arrows displayed to indicate that drivers needed to get over, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Orcutt was transported to Kittitas Valley Hospital at a precaution. Struthers was injured in the collision but refused medical attention. The patrol is investigating the collision and no citations have been issued.
