The Superior Ranger District stopped issuing burn permits for all debris burning, including burn barrels, on June 3. In accordance, after this date, burning will be closed.

The Camel’s Hump Lookout, fourteen miles northwest of St. Regis will be staffed and all smoke reports will be considered wildfires and will be responded to accordingly. People burning during the no burning season may be fined and could be required to pay for suppression costs.

Forest Service officials would like to remind recreationists to be extra careful with their outdoor activities. A shovel and bucket is required when camping in both developed and undeveloped camping areas. Make sure your campfire is dead out before leaving and don’t leave your campfire unattended. Questions can be directed to Superior Ranger District at 406-822-4233.
