St. Ignatius schools have been working with law enforcement and a Missoula business to address concerns related to the recent arrest of the president of a company contracted to run buses.

Scott Johnson, 54, of St. Ignatius, was arrested on May 24 on a charge of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Superintendent Jason Sargent expressed by email a statement explaining that specialists have determined that the bus barn and one bus, both owned by J.C. Bussing, Inc. out of St. Ignatius will require additional testing.

The company conducting the investigation is Water Rights, Inc.

Sargent said that all other buses were cleared for use, which transported district children through the end of the school year that ended Friday, June 1, as well as for any school-related activities that are still ongoing.

Water Rights, Inc. could not be immediately reached for further comment.

Sargent confirmed that the bus barn and bus in question will not be used until further testing is complete.

J.C. Bussing Inc. has a long-standing contract with the St. Ignatius School District. All of the buses used are not owned by the district.
