Police ID nine in big drug bust

POST FALLS — Police have released information on suspects in a large Post Falls drug bust.
Nine arrests were made by the Post Falls Police SWAT team and multi-agency North Idaho Violent Crimes Task Force at 1320 N. Spokane St., Unit A on Friday. Six of the suspects remained in custody at the Kootenai County Jail on Wednesday.
"I would say this was one of the largest busts that come to mind due to the number of arrests at one location in the past few years," said Jason Mealer, Post Falls Police patrol captain.
Those arrested and their charges include:
- Donald King, 42, Post Falls, unlawful possession of a firearm, trafficking in methamphetamine and heroin, possession of paraphernalia and frequenting;
- David Gibbs, 33, Post Falls, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of paraphernalia and frequenting;
- Jeffrey Dingman, 37, Post Falls, frequenting;
- Cody Williams, 28, Post Falls, possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia;
- Christopher Freeman, 41, Post Falls, possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia
- Tessa Youngwirth, 21, Newport, Wash., possession of a controlled substance (two counts) and paraphernalia and frequenting;
- Willie Burns, 21, Post Falls, frequenting;
- Shyanne Colvin, 20, Spokane Valley, possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia and frequenting;
- Taylor Bircher, 23, Kellogg, trafficking in meth, possession of paraphernalia and frequenting.
Frequenting means being in the area where drugs are sold or used.
The suspects’ identities were released after a public records request from The Press.
Those remaining in jail Wednesday include: King (bonds totaling $500,000), Gibbs ($150,000), Freeman (no bond), Youngwirth ($100,000), Colvin ($80,000) and Bircher ($200,000).
Mealer said NIVCTF obtained a search warrant for the home and contacted the Post Falls SWAT team to assist the 6 a.m. wakeup call.
"This was a problem house and had been reported before," he said. "For SWAT, this was completed within the hour, although the NIVCTF stayed on scene longer."
Mealer said the arrests were made without incident. No juveniles were arrested. Illegal narcotics and equipment were seized.
