RATHDRUM — A Hayden woman was killed and a Coeur d'Alene man was injured Saturday following a two-vehicle crash near Rathdrum.

Kootenai County Sheriff's Office reported that Alexa N. Mrgich, 23, died upon arrival to Kootenai Health after a motorcycle carrying Mrgich and Tre D. Cameron, 26, of Coeur d'Alene, was struck by a silver GMC pickup driven by Varsel M. Jarnagin, 40, of Rathdrum, at the intersection of Huetter and Lancaster roads.

Mrgich was the passenger on a Yamaha motorcycle driven by Cameron. Cameron was treated for minor injuries and released.

KCSO and Northern Lakes Fire responded to the crash after receiving a 911 call from a citizen just before noon.

"We haven't determined any fault yet," said KCSO Det. Dennis Stinebaugh. "At this time, no one has been charged. It's still under investigation."

Jarnagin's condition and the use of seatbelts and helmets were not reported as of press time.
