Despite coming off two straight wins, the Glacier Twins baseball team couldn’t finish against Cody, Wyoming, in the final game of the Belgrade tournament on Saturday.

The Twins looked great to start the game, going up 4-0 after three innings, but Cody got hot in the final three frames.

A run in the fifth got Cody going, and another in the sixth cut the Twins lead to just two. In the final inning, however, Jared Grenz tripled in two of Cody’s four runs to seal the deal 6-4.

The Twins outhit Cody 11-7, behind triples from Caleb Meehan and Quintin Schriver. Terek Bistodeau and Coby Clark-Dickenson combined for 5-7 at the plate as well.

It was an up and down tournament for the Twins (6-9).

The Twins opened the tournament with an 8-3 loss to the Belgrade Bandits on Thursday before getting back in shape with a 7-1 win over the Billings Halos.

Pitcher Jack Schwaiger went seven innings against Billings, allowing two hits but striking out five.

Early Saturday the Twins took down the Belgrade B team 13-2 behind a grand slam from Dan Seymour.

This week the Twins host the Ed Gallo Tournament at Memorial Field from Thursday through Sunday.
