SANDPOINT — A Bonner County woman charged with committing perjury in a criminal case against her brother was sentenced to nine days in jail, according to 1st District Court records.

WendyJo Marie Cramer declined to comment before Judge Barbara Buchanan imposed a 20-day sentence with 10 days suspended and credit for one day of pretrial incarceration. Cramer was sentenced on June 4, court records show.

Cramer was also ordered to perform 80 hours on the sheriff’s labor program and 100 hours of community service. She was also fined $500, court records indicate.

Cramer was granted a withheld judgment, which means the offense can be expunged from her court record once her court-ordered obligations are satisfied.

Cramer, 23, was accused of perjuring her testimony during a preliminary hearing in a felony assault case against her brother in November of last year. Cramer’s boyfriend, Steven Craig Walkup, was likewise charged for his testimony.

Both Cramer and Walkup offered alibi testimony in the case against Brandon Scott Cramer, who is accused of threatening two people with a pistol during a confrontation in western Bonner County in the fall of 2017.

Walkup, 31, is scheduled to be tried on the perjury charge next month in 1st District Court.

The charges against Brandon Cramer were dismissed as a result of the false alibi testimony, but they were later reinstated and WendyJo Cramer and Walkup were charged with committing perjury while testifying in Bonner County Magistrate Court.

Brandon Cramer, 33, entered Alford pleas to the charges in his case. Under such a plea, a defendant admits no wrongdoing but concedes a conviction could be obtained if the case went to trial.

Brandon Cramer is scheduled to be sentenced on July 16.
