Message from Fish and Wildlife
Dennis L. Clay Herald Columnist | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 6 years, 10 months AGO
The following message was received from Fish and Wildlife Tuesday while checking for the special hunt permit results. We are still in the waiting game, but it is now clear how the drawing works and why the draws and validation process is a time-consuming event. Read on.
Fish and Wildlife wants to create a better experience for our hunters who applied for 2018 special hunting permits. We want to provide you information on what to expect during the drawing process, and your ability to view all of your results when we have completed the process.
On June 20, 2018, at approximately 8:30 am, initiated the special hunting permit draw process. This process will inactivate your ability to select and see the “Special Hunts” and “Points” links within your account.
The special hunting permit draw process includes a citizen witness who is a hunter and non-Fish and Wildlife employee, a Wildlife Program representative, and staff from Fish and Wildlife Licensing Division’s Business Technical Unit. The Business Technical Unit staff will walk the citizen witness through the steps of validating the drawing, and the publish process. While there are 28 drawings that need to be conducted on this date, only a few are selected and validated with the witness during the meeting. Staff must finish the process of validating the remaining drawings before the results can be published.
During the publishing process, we request you wait a couple of hours after receiving your email confirmation(s) before checking the outcome of your applications. The publish process places a load on the system, potentially causing slowness and increasing the amount of time needed to finalize and publish the results. This is why we are requesting your patience in viewing your results. We will begin to publish the results early on June 21, 2018.
Please do not call our office to find out the results, as this causes the same issue.
