Quincy woman injured after car strikes boulder

MATTAWA — A Quincy woman was injured in an early Friday morning collision near Mattawa after her car struck a boulder.

About 2:55 a.m. Rosa Salazar Sanchez, 29, of Quincy, was driving a 2010 Acura TSX north on state Route 243 and reportedly failed to negotiate a curve. The Acura left the road to the right and struck a nearby boulder, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Salazar Sanchez was injured in the collision and transported to Kadlec Medical Center in Richland. The patrol reports Salazar Sanchez was wearing a seatbelt and alcohol/drugs were not involved in the collision. The cause of the collision is listed as Salazar Sanchez driving with her wheels off of the road. She was cited by the patrol for drowsy driving.
