MOSES LAKE — A convicted felon is facing several charges for allegedly having five guns.

Grant County prosecutors charged Robert Bailey, 47, of Moses Lake, in Grant County Superior Court with five counts of first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of an unlawful firearm (short-barreled shotgun).

On Feb. 18 the Moses Lake Police Department received a call in reference to a possible verbal domestic dispute occurring in the 900 block of North Grape Drive. A man told police his stepfather, Bailey, threatened him and loaded a number of firearms into his Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck, according to court documents.

Bailey’s stepson claimed Bailey came to the residence to gather his property and move out. Bailey, who was released from jail earlier that morning, is a convicted felon and not allowed to have firearms due to three previous felony convictions on his record.

Two other witnesses corroborated the stepson’s story by claiming they too witnessed Bailey place several guns into the toolbox of his truck. Bailey was later pulled over in the truck by a Warden Police Department officer and taken into custody. A search warrant was obtained for the vehicle and police reportedly found five guns in the truck, including a few rifles, shotguns, one of which has a barrel shorter than the legal limit, and a handgun.
