Idaho State Rep. Paul Amador announced he will seek an additional term to represent the citizens of legislative District 4, seat B.

Amador, a Republican from Coeur d’Alene, has represented District 4 in the Idaho Legislature since 2016.

“One of the commitments I made to the people of North Idaho when I first sought office was that I would remain open and accessible as an elected official,” Amador said, in a news release.

Amador has held over 20 public town hall forums with constituents and attended over 300 community public events during the past two years while in office.

“Listening to the people of North Idaho is the most important part of my job; it is always vital for me to reflect on my title ‘Representative.’ I represent the people of District 4, not just myself,” Amador said.

Amador has been an advocate for education, family, and economic related issues while in the Legislature. “He has helped to make new and sustained investments in our educational system, fought for additional protections for Idaho families, and supported returning money to Idaho citizens and businesses in the form of tax cuts,” said the news release.

“Idaho families are the bedrock of what makes Idaho such a great place to live, work, and play,” Amador said. “We build strong families in Idaho by ensuring every child has access to great educational opportunities and that individuals and businesses thrive in an environment where government gets out of the way whenever possible.”

Outside his time spent serving in the Idaho State Legislature, Amador is a small business owner in both educational and agricultural enterprises, is an educational researcher and college faculty member and serves on several community boards. He has been married to his wife, Julie, for the past 13 years, they have one son, Peter, who is 6 months old.

“The birth of our son has certainly given me a new perspective on life and the Legislature. The important issues and decisions we deal with on a daily basis are much more meaningful when I consider how they might affect his life in Idaho,” Amador said.

If Amador wins the Republican nomination in the May 15 primary election, his name will be on the general election ballot in November.
