After a tough divisionals, the Lady Blue Hawks of Thompson Falls are already looking to come back bigger and stronger next basketball season.

Head coach Doree Thilmony said that her team had peaked toward the end of the season where it counted.

“I’m very proud other work ethic and attitudes,” she said.

She expanded to stay that that she feels her team’s greatest accomplishments came at the end where it all seemed to come together.

“The way the girls started to see each other on the court and their attitudes to adapt to new playing styles was great to see,” said Thilmony.

Having only one senior in the team for this past season will only see Thilmony lose one player to graduation.

The relatively young team worked well to build and secure strengths with their on court plays thought the season.

“Our team consisted of a senior who put an enormous amount of effort in to have her team work together this season. Two juniors that picked up the intensity to a new level. Two sophomores that gained great experience and valuable confidence this season. And four freshman who are eager to begin building the future of our program,” explained Thilmony.

When asked of their post season on-court action, Thilmony said her girls got off to a slow start but finished strong in the fourth period against Eureka their final game.

They were able to score 18 points in that fourth period and should they have had an extra 10 to 15 seconds on the board Thilmony believe they would have come away with the win.

She expressed that though their season ended quicker than expected at divisionals, she feels confident that her team played to the best of their abilities.

“This year’s team competed well and had great attitudes. They remained committed to our goals and I look forward to next season and all it has to offer. The future looks bright for Thompson Falls Lady Hawk Basketball,” said Thilmony.
