A man died at Quinn’s Hot Springs Resort on Saturday, Feb. 24.

Sanders County Sheriff Tom Rummel said the death was accidental, which occurred near the resort’s swimming pool.

“At this time we are still waiting for more detailed information to come through with the exact happenings,” said Rummel.

The sheriff said emergency personnel conducted CPR on scene, however they were unsuccessful in any resuscitation.

Emergency responders included the local EMS, Sanders County Sheriff’s Office, Plains City Police and Montana Highway Patrol.

With investigations still ongoing, the coroner’s office has officially ruled the death as an accidental drowning, though no other official details have been released.

A representative of the local resort declined to comment as they said they were assisting law enforcement on the matter. The name of the male victim has not been released to the public.
