The Old Schoolhouse Rock Car Show is held annually in Superior and brings hundreds of car enthusiasts into the area to participate. This is the 19th year and a planning meeting is scheduled for March 11 at 1 p.m. at Whipped Up Montana Cafe located in the Old School.
Committee members are encouraging fellow enthusiasts to join the meeting and bring their ideas to make this year’s event even better than the last. The show is scheduled for June 1 and 2 and “will once again dazzle Superior with an amazing lineup of custom and restored classics, street rods, and antique cars and trucks. And for the second year there’s another popular category of beautifully restored camper trailers,” said a recent press release from the committee.
The Mineral County Community Foundation and Chamber of Commerce host this popular event, and Mike Curtin is the Chair of the Car Show Committee. However, he has announced that this will be his last show.
Throughout his time as chair, Mike has volunteered many hours to make sure all the pieces fall into place on the weekend of the show. The all-volunteer event requires soliciting sponsors and donors, printing posters, designing trophies, and reaching out to numerous car clubs and individuals to encourage their participation.
The Car Show is a fundraising event to provide scholarships to qualifying high school seniors. Additional information about the meeting and the show can be found on Facebook or by contacting Mike at 406-370-2188 or by email at oldschoolhouse@blackfoot.net.
