MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake Police Department Chief Kevin Fuhr is inviting local residents out to the MLPD’s second community outreach program tonight at the Moses Lake Worship Center.
The event, which will be located at 607 W. Third Ave., is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. and last about an hour.
“I would like to invite the neighborhood surrounding the Worship Center so that we can answer specific concerns that they have within their neighborhood. The facility has seating for up to 90 people so we would encourage citizens in the area to attend,” Fuhr stated.
The event is free for the public to attend and will feature information on the department, what it does, how it is structured and the programs open for residents to be involved in. Tonight’s meeting is the second in a series that will be held by the MLPD across the city. The MLPD decided to team up with the Moses Lake Ministerial Association to do small, neighborhood group meetings throughout the city in conjunction with local churches. The idea is to eventually reach every neighborhood in the city on an individual level.
The last meeting the MLPD had at El Sendero Life Center far exceeded Fuhr’s expectations in terms of attendance with 60-70 people. Fuhr and a number of officers and administrative staff will be present at tonight’s meeting to answer questions.
For more information on the meeting contact the MLPD at 509-764-3887.
