Rock slide on 4th of July Pass

4TH OF JULY PASS — The Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that a rock slide has occurred on 4th of July Pass and the debris is currently blocking the right westbound lane of Interstate 90. Idaho State Police and Idaho Transportation Department officials are en route to the scene. The incident occurred roughly two miles east of the top of the pass. Motorists should expect delays going over until the rocks are cleared from the roadway.

Motorists heading west over Fourth of July Pass Thursday morning were greeted by a large amount of rubble piled up in the road as they made their way toward Coeur d’Alene.
