West squads sweep in District 1 all-star games

MULLAN — Lake City senior James Carlson scored 16 points for the West All-Stars in a 94-82 win over the East in the 32nd annual District 1 All-Star Game at the Mullan Pavilion on Friday night.
Carlson also won the slam dunk contest at halftime of the boys game, which also featured Lakeland senior Dylan Vahey going 10 for 10 to win the boys 3-point contest.
Post Falls’ Tanner McCliment-Call scored 12 points for the East.

MULLAN — Sandpoint’s Grace Kirscher, an Eastern Washington signee, scored 20 points to earn Most Valuable Player honors, leading the West All-Stars past the East in the District 1 All-Star Game at the Mullan Pavilion.
Lakeland’s Sofi Schnepf scored eight points for the West.
Kaylee Auer of St. Maries led the East with 11 points, followed by fellow Lumberjack Paige Sines and Timberlake’s Lilly Kelley and Kaylee Jezek with nine points each. Kelley won the girls 3-point competition at halftime of the girls game.
