SANDPOINT — A Bonner County man awaiting trial in a vehicular manslaughter case has been arrested a suite of new criminal charges.

Peter Franklin Goullette is charged with aggravated battery, burglary and witness intimidation, according to the Idaho Supreme Court Data Repository. He is scheduled to make an initial appearance this afternoon in Bonner County Magistrate Court via video feed from the jail.

Goullette is scheduled to be tried next month in 1st District Court on a felony manslaughter charge and a misdemeanor reckless driving charge, offenses which stem from a June 30, 2016, collision which killed Katherine K. Stelzer and seriously injured Zualita L. Updike. Stelzer, a 61-year-old from Mead, Wash., and Updike, 50, of Clark Fork, were walking along McGhee Road when they were struck by Goullette’s pickup truck.

Goullette pleaded not guilty to the offenses, clearing the way for a four-day jury trial that’s scheduled to start on April 10.
