Bonner County Daily Bee | UPDATED 6 years, 10 months AGO
I remember Gov. Andrus calling the upcoming primary election period “the ‘crazy season,’ when people exaggerate, embellish and downright lie about their qualifications and why the want the elected office.” Well it’s happening again in some of the candidate forums. What I ask myself is why this person is seeking the office, special interest, boredom, what? Especially when they have retired and show no real qualifications or knowledge of the position they seek. T-shirts and banners do not an election make.
In the upcoming Bonner County assessor’s race only one candidate is truly qualified, Donna Gow. Donna has 27 years in the field and office working for many assessors. She has done it all.
I know this woman well. I have watched her leave the courthouse at days end drive to Post Falls and care for a loved one. Drive back home, do her chores fall into bed and go back to the Assessor’s Office next morning. She did this for months. Talk about strength of character! The Gows have served the county and country for a long time. Donna’s husband retired from Bonner County law enforcement, one son is a battalion commander for Selkirk Fire, the other is a double bronze star recipient still in the Air Force. They are Bonner County, and we should be proud.
Donna’s campaign coffers aren’t unlimited as some are. This is the people’s campaign. Please join me in supporting the only female candidate and one with all the credentials, Donna Gow.
