AT&T has been working in recent days to fix a problem that has caused some area wireless customers to complain on Facebook about service issues.

“Some customers in the Libby area may be experiencing intermittent issues with their service due to an equipment issue,” said Suzanne Trantow, lead public relations manager for AT&T’s Rocky Mountain region, via email on Wednesday. “Our technicians are engaged and working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.”

Trantow didn’t have details about the issue.

In a follow-up email sent Thursday morning, Trantow said “We’re still investigating and working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

When told of some residents’ concerns on Facebook about diminishing local services, Trantow wrote that AT&T has invested about $150 million in its Montana networks in the past three years and plans this year “to make additional upgrades in the (Libby) area, including adding newer technologies.”

“We are always looking for ways to improve service and the experience for our customers,” she wrote, asking people to call 800-331-0500 to report any problems.
