MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake was able to salvage a split with West Valley, dropping the opener 6-4 before winning the second 6-5.

It took nine innings to settle the first game as the Rams scored twice in the top of the seventh to force extras. The Rams added two more runs in the top of the ninth to win.

Dax Lindgren tripled and had three RBI for the Chiefs. Dominic Signorelli also drove in a run.

Moses Lake almost squandered another lead in Game 2.

The Chiefs led 6-1 after two innings before the Rams scratched a pair of runs across in the sixth and seventh inning. Austin Valdez earned the win after six innings of work; Evan McLean picked up the save.

Lindgren, Valdez and Cody Alvarado had multi-hit days for the Chiefs. Signorelli and Valdez had two RBI each.

Ephrata 10-18, Toppenish 2-0

TOPPENISH — Ephrata kept its CWAC record unblemished with a pair of wins over Toppenish 10-2 and 18-0.

Toppenish led the first game 2-1 through three innings before Ephrata found its bats. Ethan Etter and Boe Hesse drove in two runs apiece.

The Tigers wasted no time in the night cap, scoring six runs in the first inning.

Etter added four more RBI to his total and Kyle Hendrick had three RBI.

The Wildcats managed just two hits in Game 2.

Connell 5-11, Warden 0-3

WARDEN — Warden had a tough afternoon from the plate in two game with Connell, losing 5-0 and 11-3.

The Cougars out-hit the Eagles 6-5 in the first game but could not get a run across.

Warden led the second game 2-1 through four innings before Connell erupted for 10 runs over the final three innings.

Rodrigo Ozuna drove in two of Warden’s three runs. Ryan Arredondo pitched 5 1/3 innings and notched 10 strikeouts.

Royal 7-13, River View 6-2

KENNEWICK — Royal rallied in the first game and controlled the second to sweep River View 7-6, 13-2.

In Game 1, River View scored once in the seventh inning to force extras before Royal answered with a go-ahead run in the eighth inning.

Sawyer Jenks and Kevin Reyes combined for four innings each on the bump.

The Knights scored five runs in the fourth inning to blow open Game 2.

Gage Christensen swung the hot bat with four RBI.

Moses Lake 14-16, West Valley 5-9

YAKIMA — Moses Lake slugged its way to a sweep of West Valley 14-5 and 16-9.

Gina Skinner totaled four hits and four RBI in Game 1. Leading 5-3 after five innings, the Chiefs broke the game open with five runs in the sixth inning and four more in the seventh.

Brooklyn Bailey also tagged the Rams for four RBI.

Moses Lake rallied from a 6-2 deficit to complete the sweep. The Chiefs took the lead for good after a seven-run fifth inning.

Bailey and Skinner once again combined for three hits and three RBI apiece. Michelle Turner added two more runs batted in.

Ephrata 24-22, Prosser 0-0

EPHRATA — Ephrata held Prosser to two hits in two games for a doubleheader sweep 24-0 and 22-0.

In Game 1, Rylee Peters allowed one hit in five innings. What’s more, Peters helped her own cause with a four-hit day and seven RBI.

Jocelyn Eisen homered and drove in three runs.

Game 2 played the same. Eisen pitched a one-hit shutout and the Tigers led 9-0 after one inning. Peters added three more hits and four more RBI.

Brewster 28-20, Soap Lake 0-0

SOAP LAKE — Soap Lake could not hang with Brewster and was swept 28-0 and 20-0.

Both games lasted three innings.

Brewster’s Yvette Sanchez pitched a no-hitter in Game 1.

The Eagles scattered three hits in the second game, but trailed 15-0 after one inning.

Royal 4, Cashmere 0

CASHMERE — Royal found the back of the net three times in the second half and beat Cashmere 4-0.

“I would not say the scoreline is reflective of Cashmere — they are pretty tough,” head coach Jens Jensen said. “Physical all over the pitch and did well to mark us up and plug the passing lanes, but in the second half we were able to wear them down and also Michael Rojas scored two beauties.”

Miguel Torres broke the ice in the 27th minute on a header. Rojas added two goals in the second half, one assisted by Alonso Hernandez. Antonio Barragan scored late in the game to cap the win.

Quincy 1, East Valley 1

YAKIMA — A flurry of first-half goals as the only scoring in a 1-1 tie between Quincy and East Valley.

The Red Devils’ Ricard Castro scored in the 39th minute, however, Quincy sophomore Brian Sorto beat the first-half buzzer to knot the score.
