Shirley Johnston

Shirley Johnston, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away on March 18 with her daughter Julie at her side.

Shirley was born in Jefferson City, Mo. to Merl and George Kelsey. She married Gene Johnston in April 1960, and moved to Moses Lake in 1965. Shirley was a mom and homemaker who enjoyed crafting, and had been a member of several bowling leagues. She started work at Carnation in 1975 and retired from Nestle in 1997.

Shirley enjoyed bingo, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and loved trips to the casino.

Shirley is survived by daughter Julie Pagel and son-in-law Roger. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Fred Kelsey and sons Cliff Johnston and Glen Johnston.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Kayser’s Chapel of Memories, 831 S. Pioneer Way, Moses Lake.
