Durglo shines at Class B-C state track meet

Mission High School thrower Michael Durglo has consistently etched himself into the first-place spot in both discuses and shot put.
No doubt Durglo hopes to capture some hardware at the MHSA Class B-C state track meet.
Durglo has captured a total of eight first-place finishes at this season’s events and he added to his ever-growing resume in this week’s events at the Eureka ABC Top-8 Tuesday afternoon at Eureka High School and the Seeley-Swan qualifier Saturday afternoon at Frenchtown High School.
Durglo set a personal record with a throw of 45 feet, 11.5 inches, capturing first in the finals of the shot put at the ABC Top-8.
Durglo didn’t stop there.
He also captured first place in the discus at the ABC top-8 recording a throw of 129 feet, 1 inches.
Durglo sustained his momentum headed into the Seeley Swan qualifier Saturday afternoon at Frenchtown High School.
Durglo captured first recording a distance of 43 feet, 8 inches in the shot put and threw a distance of 125 feet, 2 inches in the discus en route to yet another first-place finish.
Durglo also placed fifth in the javelin at the Eureka ABC Top-8 recording a throw of 132 feet, 4 inches.
Durglo wasn’t the only Bulldog to have a standout performance at the ABC Top-8 and the Seeley-Swan qualifier.
Bulldogs member Flint McPherson placed fifth in the 100-meter dash at the ABC Top-8 recording a time of 12.91 seconds.
McPherson showcased his athletic versatility by placing third in the triple-jump recording a distance of 37 feet, 4.50 inches.
Isaiah Nasateweya finished second in the 1,600-meter dash with a time of 4 minutes, 59.24 seconds and fourth in the 3,200-meter dash with a time of 11 minutes, 18.48 seconds, which is a personal record.
Austin Elverud had a top-five finish in the 300-meter hurdles recording a time of 47.65 seconds.
The 4X400 relay team that consisted of Connor Burke, Denzel Lefthand, Joe Stults, and Nasateweya placed fourth recording a time of 4 minutes, 6.22 seconds.
Nasateweya placed second in the 3,200-meter run recording a time of 11 minutes, 25.37 seconds at the Seeley-Swan Invitational Saturday at Frenchtown.
The 4X100 relay team consisting of Darius Redstar, Austin Elverud, McPherson and Bird finished fifth in the finals recording a time of 49. 50 seconds.
