Lady Bulldogs track star excel in recent meets

Mission High School track star Afton Brander had four individual top-five performances at the Seeley-Swan qualifier Saturday afternoon at Frenchtown High School.
Brander finished second in the triple jump with a distance of 33 feet, 11.5 inches and the long jump with 15 feet, 5.25 inches.
Brander also placed third in the high jump recording a distance of 4 feet, 10 inches.
Brander carried the momentum she had established from the Eureka ABC Top-8 Invitational the previous Tuesday afternoon at Eureka High School.
In that meet, Brander placed first in the high jump recording a distance of 4 feet, 11 inches, second in the long jump with a distance of 15 feet, 2 inches and third in the triple jump with a leap of 33 feet, 8.5 inches.
Brander was also a member of a relay team that placed second at the Eureka ABC Top-8 and fourth at the Seeley-Swan Qualifier.
The relay team consisting of Afton Brander, Hunter Eichert, Karolyna Buck and Sydney Brander recorded a time of 55.60 at the ABC Top-8 and 55.86 at the Seeley-Swan Qualifier.
Brander wasn’t the only member of the Lady Bulldogs that turned in top-five performances at the Eureka ABC Tournament.
Karolyna Buck finished second in the 1,600-meter dash with a time of 6 minutes, 14.97 seconds and Hunter Eichert finished third in the jav recording a throw of 99 feet, 3 inches. Another Mission track star also finished in the top-five in the jav, placing fourth with a throw of 95 feet, 3 inches.
Buck placed third in the high jump recording a distance of 4 feet, 7 inches, and Sydney Brander placed fourth with a distance of 14 feet, 11 inches in the high jump. Sydney also placed fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 31 feet, 1.50 inches.
Lady Bulldogs excel at Seeley-Swan
Sydney Brander placed fourth in the 100-meter dash recording a personal record time of 13.44 seconds to cap an exciting Seeley-Swan Qualifier Saturday afternoon at Frenchtown High School.
Karolyna Buck also solidified her talents as a distance runner with an 800-meter run of 2 minutes, 49.67 seconds and the 1,600-meter run with a time of 6 minutes, 21.50 seconds.
The 4X100 meter relay team that consists of Eichert, Afton Brander, Buck and Sydney Brander finished fourth with a time of 55.86 seconds.
Tristen Adams placed fourth in the shot put recording a distance of 29 feet, 9.25 inches, a personal record.
Brander and Buck finished third and fifth in the finals of the high jump, respectively.
Brander recorded a height of 4 feet, 10 inches and Buck leaped to a distance of 4 feet, 8 inches.
The Brander sisters finished second and third in the long jump. Afton finished second with a leap of 15 feet, 5.25 inches and Sydney finished third with a leap of 15 feet, 2.75 inches.
Afton finished second with a distance of 33 feet, 11.50 inches and Sydney recorded a personal-record of 33 feet en route to a fourth-place finish.
