The Huskies showed plenty of muscle in a 5-0 win over the Tigers April 24. First singles Kyler Villareal got things going with a 6-0,6-0 win over Robbie Pugh. Second singles Abraham Alvarez was just as impressive in his 6-0,6-1 victory over Joseph Qualls. The first doubles team of Levi Garza and Josh Valdez rolled past Griffin Allen and Ryan Pugh 6-3, 6-0. Second doubles Danny Faustino and Erik Mendoza had a bit of a hiccup with Kaden Johnson and Andres Ramirez, but prevailed in three sets 6-2, 4-6, 6-4. Third doubles Saul Mendoza and Axel Rivera were tested by Gage Whitus and Xavier Hughs, but came out on top, 6-3, 6-4.
Othello improves to 3-3 in CWAC league action and 7-5 overall. The Huskies hosted East Valley Tuesday, but the results of the match were not available at press time. Othello is at Selah Thursday, and then closes out the regular season at home against Grandview.
