Royal Golf perform well in Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA — The Knights held their own on the links at Veterans Memorial Golf Course April 25. The boys took top honors with a team score of 397. Wahluke placed second with 437. College Place brought up the rear with a score of 446. Royal’s Jacob Joslin tied with the Warriors Anthony Wooldridge for low round medalist. Both guys carded an 88. The Knights Chase Janett shot 97, Caleb Christensen carded a 104 and Hunter Booth finished with a 108. The top four individual scores make up the team scores.
Girls
The Lady Knights placed second out of the three team field with a score of 230. College Place finished first with 227. Wahluke shot 438. The Warriors Alex Bangs was low row medalist with a 94. Royal’s Kayee Janett carded a 101. Katelynn Ross shot 129.
“Veterans Memorial the second oldest golf course in Washington state. It was a challenging course, but a beautiful day,” coach Pete Christensen said. “Our kids are slowing moving in the right direction and we are hoping they will peak in the next couple of weeks as we head into the sub district tournaments. The girls willplay Sage Hills May 8, the boys will be at Desert Aire May 10. The district tournament is May 17 at Prospector, a course up at Suncadia.”
