Whitefish High School DECA members took home the organization’s highest honors at this year’s International Career Development Conference recently in Atlanta.

Students and their achievements include: Josie Johnson, international finalist and top 10 role play delivery for principles of finance; Elizabeth Campbell, 70 percent or greater in competitive events component in apparel and accessories marketing; Abby Lowry, 70 percent or greater in competitive events component in marketing communications; Douglas Mercer, 70 percent or greater in competitive events component in quick serve restaurant management; Ian Caltabiano and Zach Ade, 70 percent or greater in competitive events component in business law and ethics team decision making; Aidan McMahan, Alex Stein and Brenden Cahill, 70 percent or greater in competitive events component in creative marketing project; and Anna Cook and Thea Vrentas, 70 percent or greater in competitive events component in Entrepreneurship team decision making.

A record-breaking 19,000 members and advisors took part in this year’s conference, with more than $500,000 in scholarships were presented.

Whitefish had the second most 70 percent and greater achievements among Montana schools.

The team is led by Will Roche, the DECA Advisor at the high school.
