Inconsistency is not a welcome trait for anyone seeking an elected position. Unlike his primary opponent who’s flip-flopped on major issues depending on her audience, Dan McDonald has remained consistent throughout his first truncated term as Bonner County commissioner, keeping the promises he made as a candidate.

His opponent has reversed course on at least two of her positions while Dan has remained consistent in his. He’s against the Scotchman Peaks wilderness designation, and for state control of public lands. He places the people’s desires first in community planning. And his number one priority is sound fiscal policy, while working toward further tax reductions and countywide efficiency.

If you’re not consistent in your positions while campaigning, then how can Bonner County residents trust that what you say as a candidate is what you’ll do as an elected official? The answer is: we can’t. Conversely, Dan McDonald has kept every campaign promise he made including reducing the size of government, finding innovative ways to significantly lower expenditures while maintaining crucial services like road maintenance, and promoting an open-door policy to those of whom he serves. He’s consistent, trustworthy, and transparent, and deserves a second term.

Please vote for Dan McDonald on May15th.
