SOAP LAKE — A 38-year-old man who was shot in the foot Tuesday night in Lakeview is not cooperating with Grant County Sheriff’s Office investigators.

About 6:20 p.m. Tuesday night deputies responded to Columbia Basin Hospital in Ephrata after the 38-year-old shooting victim arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to his foot. The victim says the shooting occurred at an apartment in the 300 block of state Route 28 West, in the Lakeview community, but he reportedly refused to offer any further details.

The GCSO said deputies went to the apartment and contacted several witnesses who claimed they heard the gunshot. None of the witnesses reported seeing who fired the gun.

“Because the victim is uncooperative, deputies are unable to conclude if the shooting was an accident or not,” stated the sheriff’s office in a news release.
