Bonner County Daily Bee | UPDATED 6 years, 8 months AGO
During the campaign of 2016, I witnessed Dan McDonald provide his campaign pledges to the voters should he be elected to the office of Bonner County commissioner. Chief among his pledges was to cut the spending of taxpayer funds without compromising services. While most candidates run on platforms of false promises, which require excessive public funding, Dan McDonald took a pragmatic approach to sensible government spending. The very wise voters of Bonner county elected Dan, both in the primary and general elections, and their decision has proven to be a positive one.
Since taking office in January of 2017, Dan has more than fulfilled his campaign promises. He has cut our county budget by more than $8 million. He has accomplished this by streamlining spending with the creation of a central purchasing program, self insurance, and holding department heads responsible for any liabilities they incur should they fail to follow proper procedures.
If Dan McDonald has done all of this in less than 13 months in office, just think of what he will do in four more years as our commissioner.
A vote for Dan McDonald is a vote for more efficient government spending, without compromising government services.
