Lady Vikings flourish at Lake County Meet

Carlee Fryberger and Tyrah Hammond were again dominant in the speed events. Fryberger placed first in two events at the Lake County Meet. Fryberger finished first with a time of 27.01 seconds in the 100-meter dash and in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.49 seconds.

Not to be outdone by Fryberger’s accomplishments, Hammond also emerged with a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash recording a time of 1 minute, 2.52 seconds.

The Vikings’ track and field athletes excelled in the current races and Wills Degrandpre found himself yet again in first place. In the 1,600 and 3,200-meter run Degrandpre currently has a total of six first place finishes for the 2018 season.

Degrandpre placed first in the 1,600-meter run recording a time of 4 minutes, 49.03 seconds and beat out Polson Pirates Quin Stewart, who finished second in the race, by over 13 seconds. Stewart recorded a time of 4 minutes, 52.94 seconds.

Degrandpre also won the 3,200-meter run at Lake County. He recorded a time of 10 minutes, 37.97 seconds, beating the closest competitor Polson’s Landon Shipley by a minute. Shipley recorded a personal record of 10 minutes, 40.56 seconds.

The Charlo boys 4X400 relay team finished first at Lake County recording a time of 3 minutes, 42.05 seconds

The Charlo Vikings finished May 11-12 at Districts at Big Sky in Missoula.
