Because of our concerns about the HiTest Silicon Smelter we started going to the county commissioner meetings in Pend Oreille County and Bonner County as we have two properties effected by the smelter. At the first meeting I attended in Bonner County I gave the commissioners copies of the pendoreillehealth.blogspot.com and informed them that my family and I were very concerned and to please research the smelter.

The next Bonner County meeting I attended to hear the comments from the Idaho DEQ in regard to the meeting in Spokane with HiTest and the Washington DOE I was attacked by Dan McDonald and the other two commissioners. They accused me of being the author of the blog and that I did not know what I was talking about. After the meeting Dan McDonald tells a group of members from CANSS, some of which are retired federal law enforcement, that if we don’t like the smelter we can always sell our homes and leave the area as the real estate market is hot right now.

Dan McDonald also stated he was in favor of heavy industrial business that creates jobs that the tourist industry and service industry did not create good jobs. After that Dan McDonald proceeded to attack and slander the Kalispel Tribe over their Class 1 air certification. It was after these comments from Dan McDonald that made it clear to me that he was unfit to hold public office.
