Firefighters contain car fire at Kalispell Regional

A car fire destroyed two vehicles parked at an apartment complex near Kalispell Regional Medical Center on Tuesday evening.
The fire started in a white Subaru four-door sedan parked at the Sprucewood Apartments. The apartments are used for patients receiving treatment at the hospital, as well as for their family members or friends, according to a hospital official.
The fire also heavily damaged a small SUV that was parked next to the Subaru.
Kalispell Fire Department firefighters got the blaze under control before it damaged any of the apartments. The cause of the blaze was not immediately known,
The apartments were evacuated and there were no known injuries. Hospital staff was working to find other accommodations for the people in the apartment nearest to the fire.
The call came in at about 5:30 p.m. and the fire was out a little before 6 p.m.
