Bulldogs, Lady Bulldogs shine at Bigfork

The Mission High School track team continued to have individuals excel despite competing in a bigger regular season meet at the Bigfork Invitational Saturday at Bigfork High School.
Bulldogs’ thrower Michael Durglo captured first in the shot put and recorded a personal record with a distance of 47 feet, 10 inches.
Durglo also finished fourth at discus with a distance of 127 feet, 4 inches.
The Bulldogs showcased their team speed in the 4X100 relay by finishing third. The team that consisted of Trance Bird, Austin Elverud, Darius Redstar and Flint McPherson recorded a time of 47.93 seconds.
Lady Bulldogs excel in Bigfork
The Mission Lady Bulldogs had several top-five finishes at the Bigfork Invitational Saturday at Bigfork High School.
All season, Karolyna Buck has made herself a staple in the top-five and at the Bigfork Invite it was no different. Buck finished fourth in the 800-meter dash with a time of 2 minutes, 44.29 seconds.
Buck also showcased her ability in distance events finishing fourth in the 1,600-meter run. Buck recorded a time of 6 minutes, 5.87 seconds.
The Lady Bulldogs’ 4X100 relay team finished third. The team consisting of Afton Brander, Hunter Eichert, Buck and Sydney Brander recorded a time of 55.38 seconds and proceeded to finish second in the 4X400 relay recording a time of 4 minutes, 47.05 seconds.
Buck showcased her leaping ability in the high jump. Buck finished first recording a leap of 4 feet, 10 inches and Afton Brander finished second with a jump of 4 feet, 10 inches.
Two of Mission’s throwers, Hunter Eichert and Leila Marsh, both finished in the top-five in the javelin event. Hunter Eichert finished second recording a throw of 102 feet, 3 inches and Marsh finished fifth with a throw of 94 feet, 5 inches.
Sydney Brander placed first in the long jump recording a distance of 15 feet, 6.50 inches and fourth in the triple jump with a throw of 30 feet, 11 inches.
