Death in Thompson Falls under investigation

On May 3 at approximately 1:55 p.m. the Sanders County Sheriff’s Office dispatch center received a 911 call stating an adult male had been found unresponsive.

According to an official press release from Sheriff Tom Rummel, officers from the Sheriff’s Office and Thompson Falls Police Department responded to the scene.

51-year-old Matthew Lafriniere was found dead at the scene.

Sheriff Rummel on May 14 advised that the incident resulting in the death of Lafriniere was still under investigation with the case open.

He was unable to release any further information at time of press. The Clark Fork Valley Press is following the story and will update online as soon as more information is available for release.
