Taking a master of science in biology was William Bradley Kincaid while Neenah Roth Kincaid took a bachelor of arts in anthropology.

From the Columbia Basin Daily Herald on Sept. 16, 1977:

Storage area ready at Fair

Storage space will again be available at the Grant County Fairgrounds, starting Oct. 3, fair officials announced this morning.

All units must be winterized, insured and ready for dead storage.

Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but other times are available by appointment, officials said.

The fair office will close on a full-time basis Saturday, but will remain open Wednesdays through the winter months.

Saturday’s office schedule is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for anyone wishing to pick up their open class premium checks, but officials reminded that all youth premium will be distributed through the respective youth groups.

Office appointments for times other than Wednesdays may be made by calling 765-3581.

Sugar subsidies granted

Sugar growers have been granted a temporary government subsidy to raise depressed incomes without raising consumer prices.

The temporary plan is expected to be replaced within a few months by a different sugar support system which would produce higher prices for consumers.

Under the payment program announced Thursday by Agriculture Secretary Bob Bergland, market prices for raw sugar which are currently slightly below 11 cents a pound will continue to float in response to supply and demand.
