Approximately 60 soldiers with the Montana Army National Guard, headquarted in Kalispell, were sent off Saturday with a celebration at the Red Lion Hotel in Kalispell. Sen. Steve Daines, R-Mont., and Montana Gov. Steve Bullock were in attendance.

The soldiers with Headquarters and Headquarters Company of the 495th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion will leave Montana on Sunday for a mobilization station at Fort Hood, Texas. The unit is deploying in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel in Afghanistan.
