TACOMA — Big Bend first-year manager Jameson Lange said all his Vikings had to do was get there and his Vikings (31-18) would be one of the scariest teams in the West Super Region tournament this weekend at Minnitti Field at Tacoma Community College. Big Bend, which hasn’t been to the NWAC Tournament since 2002, won the West Super Region and will now advance on to the NWAC Baseball Championships where they will play Edmonds (38-7) at 12:35 p.m. in Longview. The Vikings set up their run with a 10-4 victory over Chemeketa in the opener, then beat Tacoma, the No. 2 seed out of the West, 5-2. They clinched their berth in the NWAC Tournament with an 8-6 victory over Tacoma. In other news, third baseman Cody Banks earned a Gold Glove in the East Region and was named to the first-team, all-East team. Shortstop Kyle Tolf, first baseman Trevor Luckey and pitcher Tyson Yamane were all second-team selections.
