May 29, 1968 — 144 GRADUATED

144 graduating seniors at Sandpoint Senior High marched into the auditorium to the sound of “Entrance and March of Peers” played by the senior high orchestra under the direction of Mrs. Marian Ruyle. The recessional was the familiar “Pomp and Circumstance.”

Top members of the class included Bruce Greene, valedictorian, Anne Eakin, salutatorian and Brian McComas, class president.

Dr. J. P. Munson passed out certificates to graduates as representative of the school board.

MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONIES

Formal Memorial Day ceremonies will be conducted at 10 a.m. May 30, at War Memorial Field. J.A. Naccarato will be master of ceremonies.

The ceremonial firing squad will be composed of Herb Johnson, Robert Johnson, Bruce Gibson, Wayne Syth and John Tillberg. Taps will be played by Bill Gee and Sam Ruyle.

DELAMARTER ASSIGNED TO TEXAS

Airman Ralph L. Delamarter, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.P. Delamarter of Rt. 1 Sandpoint has completed basic training at Lackland AFB, Tex.

May 29, 1918 — CITY BREVITIES

Millard Hopkins, aged 12, died at the Allen hotel Monday of diabetes. The lad was brought here recently by his mother who sought aid for the boy with the local divine healers.

Two bids were opened at the county board meeting last week for the construction of the county highway in from Sagle to Talache. Neither bid was accepted.

EXCESS FLOUR MUST BE RETURNED

In the recent survey of the flour situation in Bonner county it was found there are about 20 barrels in the hands of private individuals over the amount now allowed. In all cases where such excess was found it was due to the fact that the parties purchased a year’s supply of flour last fall. Such action at the time was simply proof of good thrift. But the retention at this time means serious loss to those fighting our battles across the sea.

Therefore every one in Bonner county who has flour in excess of one sack is asked to turn in excess to his dealer. Dealers are ordered to settle for such flour on the basis of the present wholesale price. All persons knowing of any one refusing to return their flour is asked to send such information to the county food administrator, who will proceed against such individuals under the law.

Earl D. Farmin has been appointed food administrator of Bonner county to succeed Charles Henry, resigned.
