MATTAWA — Since announcing their partnership with NIXLE nearly a month ago, the Mattawa Police Department has seen an increase in subscribers.

NIXLE, which is a mass-notification system that partners with local police departments and emergency services, sends messages to local residents via phone and email. This allows for emergency alerts and information to be sent out instantly.

The MAPD now has close to 200 subscribers signed up to receive immediate alerts and information, and hopes to see even more people sign up said chief, Joe Harris.

To receive Mattawa area updates via NIXLE, text “mattawapd” to 888-777! to begin receiving immediate alerts.
