Somers home destroyed in fire

Firefighters from two departments battled a structure fire on Spring Creek Road in Somers early Monday morning.

According to Somers/Lakeside Volunteer Fire Chief Tom Havens, the two-story home was fully engulfed when crews arrived. It was declared a total loss.

A total of 18 firefighters from Somers/Lakeside and Kalispell Fire Department helped battle the blaze.

The call came in at 5:46 a.m. and the scene wasn’t cleared until after noon. A cause has yet to be determined and it is under investigation.

The family was not at home at the time and there were no injuries reported.
