Glacier National Park plow crews are closing in on Logan Pass. They were at Rimrocks late last week and didn’t plow on Monday because of the Memorial Day weekend.
Rimrocks is just below Logan Pass. Even when plows reach the pass, they still have to clear the Big Drift, a large snowdrift just east of the pass.
The Going-to-the-Sun Road is now open to Avalanche Creek on the west side and at Rising Sun on the east side. Most secondary roads are open. The Inside North Fork Road is open to Bowman and Kintla Lakes, but closed between Logging Creek and Camas Creek.
The Many Glacier campground is now open, though the Two Medicine campground remains closed. Backcountry travel in Glacier is limited — only six backcountry campsites were listed in summer condition, meaning they were snow-free and accessible, by presstime. Most of those campsites were in the Belly River region.
