The next generation of track and field athletes put on their best during the Plains Elementary track day.

The elementary school students took turns in throwing, jumping and running as parents watched on from the side lines.

Elementary’s health and P.E. teacher Linda Knight once again rallied the troops to put on a fun filled day of athletics for the little ones to enjoy.

Though this year is the last she would be organizing the track day for the elementary; she will be passing the baton off to Karli Cavill next year.

All staff said they were a little sad to see Knight step down but know Cavill will do a great job.

With the sun shining down on the track and field behind the gymnasium, it was all smiles as the kids started soaking the summer sun ahead of fininshing the school year.
