You can’t call yourself “right for Bonner County” and advocate for rehoming unvetted refugees on our dime. You can’t call yourself “right for Bonner County” and advocate for increased taxes by way of Medicaid expansion. And you can’t call yourself “right for Bonner County” while expecting taxpayers to foot the bill for high-speed internet. All of these would increase our county taxes.

No, the fiscal conservative is already holding office: Commissioner Dan McDonald. While “Socialist Steve” says he’ll “keep taxes low” while advocating for taxing county residents for his pet projects, Dan McDonald and the other commissioners have trimmed nearly $12 million of waste from our county budget and are working to find more savings, all while retaining services and with no drastic cuts to personnel. That is truly “right for Bonner County.”

Mr. Lockwood, who has no track record of fiscal conservatism, is trying to fool voters with his misleading, empty campaign slogan; Dan McDonald has proven in his first term that he’s the real deal.

Please give Dan McDonald your vote on Nov. 6.
