Bonner County Daily Bee | UPDATED 6 years, 2 months AGO
I echo the remarks of outgoing commissioner Glen Bailey’s support for reelecting Dan McDonald (Sandpoint Reader, Oct. 18, 2018). Commissioner Bailey has worked with Dan daily dealing with Bonner County administrative issues and recognizes the value of Dan’s efforts. Thanks, Commissioner Bailey, for your years of service to the citizens of Bonner County and endorsement of your fellow commissioner.
Bonner County needs Dan McDonald’s experience and leadership. He knows his job, works smart, is innovative and always looking for a better way to deal with the challenges of county government. Over the past two years I have spent a great deal of time with Commissioner McDonald dealing with natural resource issues. While we have not always agreed, I have found him to be extremely reasonable, willing to listen and flexible enough to change his position once the all facts are known if there is a better way. He is a huge supporter of private property rights, multi-use of our natural resources, cost-effective government and making good decisions for the benefit of the majority.
Bottom line: Dan is a one-of-a-kind individual with an exceptional ability to solve problems and relate to people. While I know little about his opponent, as a former Idaho Department of Fish & Game Panhandle fish and game commissioner, I unhesitatingly endorse Dan’s McDonald’s reelection and encourage all Bonner County sportsmen to do the same.
