Bonner County Daily Bee | UPDATED 6 years, 5 months AGO
I am not certain of the exact year we started the “pink-and-blue” baby bags for newborn babies at our hospital, Bonner General Health.
However, over the years, I have tried to send thank you notes to everyone who contributed blankets, hats, booties and quilts to be added to our volunteer project. Many groups and individuals simply heard about our need and dropped off beautiful knitted and quilted items without leaving their names or a way to contact them.
It is my deep appreciation to all of you for your continued support to our ongoing program. Without you, there would be no gift bags for our new born babies. Many times for mothers in need, they provide the extra blanket, hat, first baby book, booties, and often “onesies” starter outfits they cherish.
I have tried to mention all who have contributed in the past. If you were not mentioned, believe me you, too, are appreciated and I’m sorry for the omission. Among those who have contributed are Panhandle Happy Hatters, Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, Westmond Ward, Mennonite Sewing Circle, Bonners Ferry, Boise Stitches From the Heart, Morning Glory Methodist Women, Community Assistant League, Sharing Stitches, Laurie & Marti, Becky Stone and those great gals in the Quilting Group, Juanita Fewkes, Diane Blanford, Shirley Mitchell, Gladys Nave, Christine Hoehn, Kary Miller, Jeanne Mc Munn, Beth Sanborn, Sherry Ennis, Alice Beckett, Lydia and Emily Babcock, Barbara Stout, Shirley Mitchell, Betty Standish, Alana Stevenson, Knotty Knitters of Hope, and Millie Ormesher, who made so many red Christmas hats and snuggles.
May you all be blessed and feel the love you have provided for many newborn babies.
